Nicole Scherzinger is best known for her previous role of lead vocalist in the all-successful band Pussycat Dolls.
Born in 1978 as Nicole Prescovia Elikolani Veliente in Hawaii, Nicoles parents divorced when she was just a baby and she traveled with her mother and stepfather to Kentucky.
Nicoles inspiration to become a singer came when she heard a tape of Whitney Houston. She loved the recording so much she swore to herself to become a singer. This led her to sign up into the Wright State University in Ohio where she gained knowledge of theater and dance.
While she attended the school, Nicole got the opportunity to be a back-up singer for a group called Days of the New. This led to her dropping out of college. Soon she became the lead vocalist for an all-girl band Edens Crush and they produced a hit called “Get Over Yourself”.
Nicole and Pussycat Dolls
Edens Crush members soon parted ways and Nicole took the role as the lead vocalist of Pussycat Dolls. The year 2005 marked the release of their first album named “PCD” which sold around 9 million copies around the world and gained the double platinum status in USA. The album featured several hits such as “Don’t Cha”.
Pussycat Dolls released their second album in 2008 named “Doll Domination” which wasn’t as successful as their previous album but still managed to sell over 5 million copies worldwide. There was some disagreement in the group but this didn’t slow Nicole down and in 2009 she they made a worldwide hit song “Jao Ho”
Nicole went back into acting and starred on the ABC Dancing with the Stars and Rent at the Hollywood Bowl in 2010. A year later she replaced Cheryl Cole on the USA X Factor as a judge along with Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid and Paula Abdul.
